As your next Sheriff, my top priority is guarding public safety. In today’s world, this requires immense flexibility in focus.
While recognizing that each day in this role will bring new responsibilities, I am committed to addressing the following key issues head-on, along with those we may not even foresee at this time. Together, we will tackle these challenges with a focus on keeping Hays County safe and secure.
Collaborate with every law enforcement agency in Hays County to improve efficiency in our public safety.
Continue to bring awareness regarding the Fentanyl crisis to every school campus and citizen in Hays County.
Increase school safety efforts ensuring every student and staff member goes home to their loved ones every day.
Focus on recruiting and fostering a culture of value within the Sheriff’s Office.
Adequately staff “the backbone” of the Sheriff’s Office, the Patrol shifts, so they can respond to the 911 calls and meet the expanding needs of our Hays County community.
Build community trust by growing the Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy which emphasizes the importance of relational/community policing.
Work with mental health professionals to empower our deputies and correction staff with necessary training to be successful.
Leverage technology to optimize day to day operations and maximize efficiency.

Meet Anthony
Anthony Hipolito is a highly experienced law enforcement professional, having devoted the last 24 years to serving the people of Central Texas. A graduate of Jack C. Hays High School, Anthony has deep roots in Hays County, having grown up and raised his family here. He began his career with the Austin Police Department in 1998, where he held various roles, and was promoted twice before retiring as a Sergeant in July 2021. Anthony then joined the Hays County Sheriff's Office, where he currently serves as a member of the Community Outreach Division. In this role, he has been instrumental in increasing public awareness of issues such as Fentanyl poisonings and working closely with local organizations to build stronger, safer communities. With a commitment to bringing his proven leadership, dedication, and integrity to the County Sheriff’s office, he is ready to serve all citizens of Hays County with honesty, respect, and fairness.
